(banner image: Microsoft Azure December 2022 hero image)
Past September marked my ten-year employment at Betabit. And it has been one wild ride! I’ve been blessed to be able to do some awesome things like helping customers make the transition to the cloud, organizing the internal Hack Yourself First workshop by Troy Hunt, speaking at conferences internationally, becoming a Microsoft Azure MVP, recording the Betatalks videos and most recently Betatalks the Podcast with lots of great guests, among who Scott Hanselman!

Website migrated to Static Web App
When I first moved my website to Hugo I hosted it on Static website hosting in Azure Storage. And although it’s a good way to host your website, there are some extra steps you need to take as soon as you need more than just a place to put your static assets. For instance:
CORS is not supported No support for HTTPS with custom domains Unable to configure headers For more information on the differences between static website hosting in Azure Storage and Static Web Apps, see the Azure Static Web Apps: a first look blog post.

Microsoft Certified Trainer 2021 - 2022
Early this morning I recieved an email that stated I qualified as a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) for 2021/2022! It’s a great honor and I am happy to be part of this community.
Many of Microsoft’s software and technologies are technically complex, and professionals may require training from knowledgeable trainers in aspects of their use. In order to make such training generally available, Microsoft has developed the Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Program which grants membership to professional trainers and learning consultants who demonstrate and maintain technical and instructional expertise on Microsoft technologies and who have complied with all requirements.

September 2020 update
There has been a lot happening this month! Most of us are back after summer holiday and are ready to get going again. Unfortunately COVID seems to be getting a renewed grip on the country, so it’s kind of uncertain where we’re going. Let’s hope for the best. But for now, let’s go!
Serverless September This is a good month to do so, since it’s #ServerlessSeptember! My colleague Oscar van Tol and I kicked off the month with a webinar that is now available online: “Kicking off Serverless September: the present and future of Serverless”.

Migrated to Hugo
Way back when I started blogging, I started out with Blogger. The use of that didn’t last long, because I was contacted by a colleague at the time to move over to BloggingAbout.net, which I did. They ran Community Server for over nine (9!) years before switching over to WordPress.
Later, I migrated my blog to be part of my personal website. With everything in WordPress already, the easiest route was to use WordPress for my personal website as well since migrating would be easy.

Added news section
To better distinguish between technical content and news I’ve added a news section to my website. This enables me to add information to my website that’s (temporarily) interesting but not blogworthy.
Do you like the addition? Let me know below or through the contact page.
